Sessions take place in my North Plainfield, Illinois studio or on location throughout the greater Chicagoland area, allowing each story to unfold in a setting that feels natural and personal.
My style is light-filled and true to life, blending natural light with creative lighting techniques to create depth and dimension. I’m drawn to honest color — cooler, airy tones in the summer and rich, warm hues in the fall — ensuring your images feel timeless, cohesive, and beautifully reflective of the season you’re in.

I collaborated with a creative team on a tight deadline to produce imagery supporting a headline feature on a local woman. Working closely with editors and designers, I delivered photographs aligned with the publication’s brand standards and visual direction. The final images were thoughtfully crafted to meet both storytelling and design needs for their quarterly national print edition.

I collaborated with the creative team to produce imagery supporting a headline feature on new year's resolutions. Working closely with the Art Director, editors and talent, I photographed the subjects in-studio, aligned with the publication’s vision. The final images were thoughtfully produced meet both storytelling and design needs for their print & digital edition.

My name is Matthew J. Odom, or just Matt. First and foremost, I'm a family man. My wife, Melissa and I are blessed with a son and daughter. I enjoy cooking homemade meals, going to concerts, the Southwest, watching my kids explore life, going for hikes, and da Bears!

I'm a digital artist specializing in photography, motion graphics, and video production since 2005. I opened Pixel Perfect Pros, LLC in 2008 with my Dad while working for a full service video and photography production studio. Four years later, I took on the adventure of self-employment capturing family milestones and creating motion graphics for higher education publications and small businesses.

Photography has always been in my life. At just 4 years-old on my first trip to Disney, I remember begging to use my family’s new camera at the Electric Light Parade— I wanted to remember that moment forever. In grade school, the revolving door to the photography dark room was like a portal that took me out of school into a world of play. I was hooked.

I continued to work with film at Libertyville Highschool and was intrigued by the digital revolution that was happening. I attended Northern Illinois University for my core education and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Illinois Institute of Art in Visual Effects & Motion Graphics.

To me, there is no greater job than capturing a moment in life that evokes emotion. I simply love diversity of projects the industry presents!
Matthew went above and beyond to capture newborn/family photos for my family! He communicates quickly and creates beautiful photos from whatever information you share, that you are looking to capture.
Our little guy was born at 32 weeks and spent a month in the NICU... so from being super flexible with "not knowing" when our little guy would be released from the NICU to have his pictures taken to being open to new ideas on what I was looking for (but was having trouble picturing what exactly I wanted done) he created gorgeous photos that we will forever treasure.
We can't wait to have more photos done with him. :)
